Jiverly Voong
Jiverly Voong, or Jiverly Wong as some think he is really called, has been identified as the lone gunman who shot some 13 people at a school holding citizenship classes. Or at least, the dead body was found with ID papers in the name of Jiverly Voong. The thought that he might actually be Jiverly Wong is that some say he was originally Vietnamese and the spelling was change from Wong to Voong when he arrived in the USA.
....
An anonymous law enforcement source told the Associated Press that the gunman had an identification card that said he was Jiverly Voong, 42. Authorities searched his home in nearby Johnson City on Friday and confiscated computer hard drives, a rifle case and luggage.
A second law enforcement official said the two handguns found with the body were registered to Jiverly Wong, another name the man used. He once lived in Southern California.
There seem to have been indications that all was not well with Jiverly Voong (or Wong) in the past:
Things weren't great for those who survived Jiverly Voong's attacks either:
Ridiculously, the Taleban is now claiming responsibility for Jiverly Voong's attack:
Pakistani Taliban commander Baitullah Mehsud claimed responsibility for the attack on an immigration services center in Binghamton, N.Y., the Press Trust of India reported Saturday.
Mehsud said that a Pakistani and another man carried it out the attack, which left 14 people, including a man the police suspected of being the gunman, dead during a killing spree Friday.
A man, identified as Jiverly Voong by ABC News, reportedly entered the American Civic Association in downtown Binghamton, about 140 miles northwest of New York City, at 10:30 a.m. EDT and opened fire.
A strong claim but not one that I would give much credence to.
It's easy enough to make a phone call, isn't it? While actually finding someone like Voong willing to die in such an attack is a great deal more difficult.
Pakistani Taliban militant leader Baituallah Mehsud today claimed responsibility for the gun attack on a U.S. immigration centre which left 13 people dead and four in a critical condition.
More than 40 people were taken hostage at the American Civic Association in Binghamton, New York state yesterday by a man with a high-powered rifle who later committed suicide.
'I accept responsibility. They were my men. I gave them orders in reaction to U.S. drone attacks,' Mehsud told Reuters by telephone from an undisclosed location.
Naah. I think we'll put that down to political grandstanding shall we? Remain with the Jiverly Voong as a lone nutter theory I think.

wong is not vietnamese. get the facts straight. also the maniac today killed all his five children before turning the gun to himself in Washington state. should we start the talk about deporting all white people back to europe. i heard similar comments about deporting all asians when this news surfaced. america is so fk up. looks like the media is only interested in crime commited by asian men who generally commits far far far less crimes then people of other races.

I don't know if you lack knowledge or...
But Wong is not a Vietnamese last name and is not an English spelling of any Vietnamese last name. We Vietnameses use alphabetical system so our last names need not to be changed for easy pronunciation. Any Vietnamese who changes the spelling of his/her last name is merely a sellout.
This Wong was merely a Chinese living in VN. I said living because all those darn Chineses never wanted to assimilate, only to get rich on our land. Perhaps in Vietnam his last name spelled Vuong (the Vietnamese way) then he changed when arrived here to better take advantage of the long established presence of the Chinese Americans. He is now a new member of the Chinese Vietnameses I detest. When praised for doing well here they claim they are Chineses yet when caught committing crimes they reported themselves Vietnameses. A bunch of low life, utterly void of integrity.
Please, if you are interested in fairness, justice, right and human decency as Americans promoting themselves to be around the world, correct your error and, next time, research a bit before you put up news about Vietnameses (we can easily be located here and are always willing to inform about ourselves).
I do agree with nguyen that Asian men generally commits far less crimes than men from other races. We Asians are generally peaceful people whose concerns centered around economic survival.
