Tim Montgomery

Tim Montgomery, former 100 meter world record holder has been sentenced to five years in prison after admitting to heroin distribution.

This mandatory sentence will be served on top of the four year sentence he received in New York for check fraud.

Montgomery apologized to his family who include his son Tim whose mother, Marion Jones has also served time in prison.

While a star of the track, Montgomery never failed a drugs test but he did admit to using steroids, so he was stripped of his 2000 Olympics gold medal from the 4*100 relay.
