Fake Bus Stop Keeps Alzheimers Patients Waiting

German nursing homes have come up with a great idea to stop Alzheimers patients from wandering off. They have erected an exact replica of a standard stop outside, with one small difference:   buses do not use it.

Previously the centre had to wait for the police to return their patients who had wanted to return to their homes and families, which often no longer existed. Now the patients tend to stop at the bus stop and wait for a bus to take them. While there they forget what they were planning to do and are happily taken back to their rooms.

the concept has worked so successful that it has now been adopted by several   other homes across Germany.

A serious issue of course, and a brilliant, simple idea, but I fell off my chair laughing it's so good!

Pretty good idea I guess except it eliminates the possibility of actual bus service.
