DNA Problems

This is an interesting little note:

What complicates the matter further is that all three of the McCanns’ children were born through IVF and it is unknown whether the couple’s sperm and eggs were used for conception.

That really could complicate matters.

One would assume though, that the comparison samples of the child's DNA that are being used to match the samples recovered from the crime scene are from a hairbrush, toothbrush, etc or other possession of hers. That's the usual method.

So whether they do or do not match the parent/sibling DNA should not be a factor.
