A very well argued article about the current political climate. i certainly agree that politics is more about making the right 'noises' than getting the job done.

However, I don't see why the author decided to give small-scale local projects a kicking, because trying to open community projects or deal with serious issues such as anti-social behaviour using a top-down approach does not take into account local variations in wealth, prosperity, demographics etc.

LFAT, where does he say that, exactly? As I posted over at Will's site, free kayaking would not be allowed in the UK under elf'n'safety laws. Or be illegal under an EU Directive or something.
