Odd, That's All.

I'm informed that in Ireland a left footer is a Protestant, specifically a Presbyterian.

In England a left footer is a Catholic.

Odd, eh?

Left footers/handers are less common than right in the general population. The term is used outside its literal meaning to represent other or unusual. Therefore, they are associated with the minority religion in each country.
