Roy 'Chubby' Brown

Umm, I'm a bit behind the times here perhaps?

The village in The League of Gentlemen is called Royston Vaiszey isn't it? Flicking through Roy 'Chubby' Brown's autobiography in the airport the other day I realised that his given name is in fact Rosyton Vaiszey.

So the village was named in homage to him?

Two possibilities here: I'm so out of touch that I've got those names wrong and two, that you all knew this a decade ago.....which is further proof that I am very out of touch.

I think you're a wee bit behind the times there Tim. 'Chubby' played the mayor in the second series as you might remember.

Tim adds: I've never actually seen the show so, yes, out of touch.

Yes and Chubby Brown is about as funny as that show as well so they fit.

Is nobody else going to ask what the hell you were doing "flicking though" Roy chubby Browns autobiography?

It must have been one hell of a delay for you have to flicked through every other book in the store first.

Tim adds: Two hours delay actually and I couldn't get the wifi to work either.

I live a couple of miles from Hadfield, the town in which they film the series. You can see my aunt's old house in the opening credits, and yes - Hadfield really is just as weird and incestuous as Royston Vasey.
