Interesting pieces. On solar panels if they do come down in price to where they competitive with other forms without subsidy then no-one is going to care about the minor advantage nuclear has on lifecycle CO2 emissions, are they?
Tim adds: Depends how far down you want emissions to come but yes, fair point. Currently they emit about 2.5 times nuclear.

True, though it seems possible that if the cost of making them can be massively reduced then the energy used in making them would also decline substantially.
Tim adds: Agreed. It’s actually what I think will solve climate change. But it ain’t there yet
