Sigh.
I go away for 48 hours and am, in this abscence, hit with an avalanche of criticism. Taken to task even:
Name and shame bloggers who have totally boring redirection notices.
First culprit: Tim Worstall. He writes:
TCS
Piece up at Techcentralstation today.
Woop-dee-doo. This assumes that the reader, panting for Worstall wisdom as the hart panteth after the water brooks, will click the link no matter what the topic. I might, but why make it so hard?
Well, yes, that is the minor reason for such posts, that those panting for more of all things Worstall will know where to find such. Hard as it may be to understand, those with such desires are not a null set (Hi Mum!)
But the major reason is that I like to point to pieces of paid work that occur. This aids and comforts readers here as they are made aware that the beer bill has been met for a further (short) time. This is reassuring as the Lord only knows what chaos would ensue around here if sobriety were ever to break out.

Does that mean I'm allowed to gratuitously plug my blog?
Because I just started one, you know...

I am not sure if I correctly conveyed my point. I am not against your having re-direction posts - I just think you should advertise them better. How about:
Hot anti-Krugman action from me at TCS
Help save Paul Krugman's economic soul and convince those nice TCS guys to buy me more beer by clicking on this link.

Agreed - I'd already read your thoughts on this, so following the link was wasted effort for me.
