Sheep’s Piss in Diesel.

Fun report about Stagecoach using sheep’s urine to reduce pollution:

The urine is collected by the fertiliser industry from farmyard waste and refined into pure urea, which is then sold on to be used in the green engine technology. Ammonia from the urea reacts with nitrous oxides in the exhaust fumes and converts them to nitrogen gas and water, which is released as steam.

All very fun but why the sheep? Urea can be collected from any form of urine....and it is also synthesized on an industrial scale.

Ancient Rome in the time of Vespasian. Jars set up by private companies at street corners collect the urine of passers-by and sell it to the toga laundering industry. The lower classes' clean togas smell of pee. The upper classes get theirs perfumed afterwards to eradicate the odour.
I kid you not.

Why the sheep? An advertising stunt for Wales?

Easy, sheep piss is a touchy feely green product. It can be collected in a life affirming, gaia friendly manner by the comrades on the collective while wearing their natural wool, home spun peasants smocks. Synthesized urea, on the other hand, comes out of those smelly planet destroying factories, causing pollution and destroying all of those precious natural resources which it would be so much better to leave in the ground so they couldn't be used up.

Don't you techno types understand anything?
