Anyone Know Any Publishers?
Yes, yes, I know, every blogger thinks they really should be a published author if that job as Supreme Dictator doesn’t come up soon.
However, as a result of something I wrote a few days ago I’m getting sent a series of stories on bureaucracies. You know the sort of stuff, lightly humorous bits and bobs about the silly things that get demanded. It occurs to me that it wouldn’t be all that tough (I’m already 10% of the way there) to collect the odd 100 of these and turn it into a compendium.
Nothing very fancy, the sort of thing that goes straight to paperback on cheap paper at 4.95 for the Christmas Stocking trade.
Sooo, anyone know anyone in this business? Not looking for much money for doing it (50 quid and royalties would be fine) but does anyone know who to even start talking to? I’m not sure I want to start cold calling through the Writer’s Directory and I can’t really think of any other method of finding someone without just, well, you know, asking.
Does anyone actually even do books like this any more? Bueller?

I know one rather well, Baen, but I don't think he'll do this sort of thing. Then again, you might email it to him and see. He's done odd things before.

Alt.Cyberpunk.Chatsubo did something similar (but Cyberpunk rather than politics) gathering a series of stories from the group, editing them, and then getting the anthology published as paperback. Try searching them via Google for "Anthology", you might be able to find some tips.
