Weekend Competition.
Spread the word far and wide, we’re having a competition here this weekend. The aim is to come up with the tag line for a bumper sticker which perfectly describes your (or our) view of the European Union. What we’re looking for is, if possible, something as good as the one "windowlicker" dorpped into a comments section over at The Daily Ablution concerning the more extreme Greens:
"Imagine a Birkenstock stamping on a human face. Forever."
That’s the sort of thing, literate, apposite and insulting.
NRVLaw started this all off this morning by offering via email the following:
"The EU: Stalinism with a softer bootheel,"
A couple of mild attempts from me:
"The EU, Straight Bananas since 1992."
"EU can check out any time you want but EU can’t leave."
Obviously I need more caffeine at this time of day. Drop your attempts in the comments and we’ll declare a winner on Monday, along with the traditional award of geek points, a secret masonic handshake and a virtual party with lashings of ginger beer.
Update: Added to the OTB Caption Jam.
