Clive Davis on the Blacklist.

Clive Davis has a piece in The Times (reg required so I haven’t read it) on the Hollywood blacklist. I do hope he included the fact that said blacklist led to the greatest line ever in any movie, retold here at Tim Blair’s, the closing line of the movie, as Woody Allen delivers his balanced and nuanced judgement upon the Un-American Activities sub-committee:

"Gentlemen, you can go fuck yourselves"

Now that time has passed I've heard that HUAC did get a lot more of its fingers pointed in the right direction (communists out to overthrow America) than popular opinion knows...
