Watchluxus

Now this is an interesting new site, Watchluxus. It's a very intreesting way of using the web to provide people with information. What it most importantly is not is a retailer: they're an information service and a very good one at that.

What they've done at Watchluxus is aggregated all of the information that there is out there about the entire luxury watch market. You can browse this through the databse, or if you know which brands you're interested in you can go direct to that. So you can compare and contrast the options and then weight up the merits of the various different offerings. So far so good.

Where I think Watchluxus have been very clever is in the way that they then operate. If you decide that you're ready to buy something they don't try and sell i to you themselves. They refer you to one of the official, certified dealers in that brand. This way you know that you're getting the real thing and that you'll be covered by guarantees and so on.

It's a clever business model for it gets right around the problems of trust with such expensive items. If you're into decent watches then Watchluxus is just the place for you.
