Have you got your contents insurance?
As regular readers will know we've been sorting out a house rebuild here in sunny climes. We've managed to finish the house now and are in the process of populating it. Not just the obvious things like furniture and pets and people, but the infrastructure of a living space.
You know, baths and taps and light fittings and carpets and.....all the things that when you buy good stuff can cost a fortune but which you never quite seem to budget for properly. Which has turned my mind to what might we do if something horrible went wrong?
For example, as is common here, heating is by wood fire. I can imagine that getting out of control at some point: it's hardly unusual after all. And thus bang would go all the money we've spent on getting the place sorted out.
Yes, of course we've house insurance, but that's not enough, for there's also all that money spent on the bits in it. The contents: which is why I've been looking for contents insurance. And, as you can see from that link, found it.
Until I'd added up how much we'd spent I hadn't thought about it. But now that I have, yes, my contents are insured.
