Kenneth Keith Kallenbach has been reported as dead. He died of pneumonia while being held in jail: he had been arrested fo pulling at a girl in the street and was being held before trial.

Kallenbach was made famous by his membership of Howard Stern's Wack Pack.

Pretty good medical treatment you get in jail, eh, if something as simple as pneumonia gets you while you're awaiting trial?

Bill Maher has managed to get himself into a little bit of controversy again. When talking about the Pope last week he make extensive mention of his past as a Nazi....going well beyond the generally accepted tales of his membership of the Hitler Youth and conscription into the Wermacht (that last would have brought a death penalty if he had not obeyed).

His non-apology apology overthe weekend has led to a campaign to get the TV station to fire him, thus the Fire Bill Maher campaign. I don't think it will work but everyone's got a right to make their opinion heard, especially consumers.

Britney Spears has just been ordered to pay all the lawyers fees. Nearly $400 big ones worth!

It's not just that the case has been complex (in fact, it hasn't been really), it's that lowyers charge, not what it is right what they charge, but how much they think they can charge. The richer the client, the more they have to pay.

And of course, as Britney is the only person here with any money at all, she's got to pay forthe lawyers for everyone!

If you've got a blog (or any other form of website actually, but blogs are what I know about best) then you need to make sure that people actually know that it's there. You've got to market it, that is.

Now there are indeed effective methods that people already know about: leave comments on other blogs, link to others, use trackbacks and so on. But one that people don't in fact use enough is taking advantage of free web directories.

There's a double advantage here: the first is that you will get some traffic, if not all that much, from having an entry in them. But more importantly, you'll also raise your Google Page Rank, and that's the most important thing about how high you'll rank in the search engine. The higher your rank, the more likely your post on Britney Spears' car crash will be on the front page. Or, as this blog's post is on "Dick Cheney's sunglasses" the number one result on Google.
