Symbionese Liberation Army

The Symbionese Liberation Army was one of those almost inevitable outcomes of the late 60s mixture of idiotic Maiosm and other sub currents of Marxism and the very strong drugs of the time.

The essential idea was that the American working classes were simply a powder keg waiting to go off and all that was needed was a revolutionary vanguard to rob a few banks to trigger off the inevitable ushering in of the proletarian revolution.

It's the sort of thing that many of us have believed in after a few bong hits too many: most of us sober up. Not, however, the Symbionese Liberation Army.

They're in the news today because the last of their number has just been released from prison.
