Lynsey Nordstrom was sent down to watch a football game by the New York Post: she's a dead ringer fo Jessica Simpson, who is the current squeeze of the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. The reason for this stunt involving Lynsey Nordstrom (who makes her living as a Simpson look-alike) is that rumour has it that when Romo, the Dallas quarterback, has his current love interest watching a game he loses his focus.
I have to admit that, however good looking my squeeze, or however enticing her performance in bed, if I was being chased around a field by 11 250 lb men I would be paying more attention to them than anything else. But I guess it takes all sorts:
Lynsey Nordsstrom was sent to the Giants vs. Cowboys game in Irving Texas by the New York Post as Jessica Simpson in an attempt to throw off Tony Romo’s game.
Romo has a history of playing poorly when a girlfriend watches the game. Both Carrie Underwood, who dated Romo in 2006, and his current love interest, Jessica Simpson are to blame for Romo’s lack of focus on the field.
More on Lynsey Nordstrom:
We have found the perfect replacement. Her name is Lynsey Nordstrom. She lives outside Seattle. Her NYC-based agent describes her as a "spitting image" of Simpson, and looking through her photo collection on MySpace.com, it really is tough to tell the difference.
Luckily, she loved Jessica from the beginning -- "She, like, inspires me," Nordstrom says -- before she grew up and became her body double. There is no plastic surgery involved here. She has the same nose, the same jawbone, and figures she lucked out in the gene pool.
"This is waaaay better than looking like Britney Spears at this point!" she explained.
Romo probably could tell the difference up close. But if the Giants were savvy, they could sneak our Jessica clone into Texas Stadium just before kickoff. Romo would glance up at luxury suites, see his gorgeous gal pal and immediately start throwing interceptions.
That must be the only way to solve this riddle, right? The Giants are 0-4 against the Cowboys with Romo as starting quarterback, his offense putting up 76 points in two games against them this season.
Nordstrom has fooled people before. She once did a liquor advertisement -- she was chosen from five other potential Faux Jessicas, in fact -- and even duped Perez Hilton, the noted celebrity blogger, who was outraged that Jessica would stoop to doing a booze ad.
Since then, Nordstrom has appeared at parties, on morning shows and other corporate events. Never before, however, has she attempted to win an NFL game, and she might have extra motivation. For starters, she wished that Jessica and Nick Lachey never broke up. And then there's her own rooting interest.
"I'm a Seahawks fan!"
And the people who organised the stunt? That'll be the New York Post:
Even a fake Jessica Simpson was good enough to throw off the Dallas Cowboys yesterday, as Big Blue took a Giant step toward the Super Bowl.
The Giants, who notched a stunning 21-17 victory over Dallas, had a good-luck charm in the stands - beautiful Simpson lookalike Lynsey Nordstrom.
The real Simpson was the subject of hand-wringing in Big D all week, because of quarterback beau Tony Romo's habit of losing when she's in attendance.
Simpson didn't show up yesterday, but The Post brought Nordstrom - a 21-year-old nanny from Bothell, Wash. - to Texas Stadium.
We sat her in the third row behind the Dallas bench, and she must have made the difference - Romo's final drive was stopped short of the end zone.
