Sandrama Lamy has been arrested for groping Santa. Yes, really: Sandrama Lamy has been arrested on chrages of fourth degree sexual assault. What makes it really weird is that Sandrama not only groped a 65 year old man, she then made her escape on her....crutches:

Sandrama Lamy, 33, of Danbury, was charged with sexual assault and breach of peace. She was released on a promise to appear in court on Jan. 3.

Police quickly found and identified Lamy because the woman was described as being on crutches, said Capt. Bob Myles.

A call seeking comment from Lamy was answered by a recording Tuesday morning. A woman later called back and said: "It's a false report and I don't have any idea."

Police did not give the name of the disconcerted Santa, but they said he is 65 and felt badly because children were waiting to see him. "He was apparently shocked and embarrassed by the whole incident," Myles said.

A man who teaches hundreds of prospective Santas a year — "Santa Tim" Connaghan, president of RealSantas.com — said he's never heard of a similar incident, though it's not unusual for adults to want to pose with Santa.

There's posing with Santa and there's posing with Santa, obviously.

Sandrama Lamy, a 33-year-old woman from Danbury of Connecticut, was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault on a man playing Santa Claus at the Danbury Fair Mall. On Saturday December 15, Sandrama Lamy went shopping at the mall and possibly was attracted by the Santa's performance. But don't know how, the woman managed to sit on the man's lap and consequently might have touch the man inappropriately.

Well, you can see why this might happen: I guess that's why they usually only let the kids sit in Santa's lap, eh?

Christmas after sitting on his lap in Danbury, Connecticut over the weekend. The Santa, who asked not to be named, said: “I don’t know what the deal was. It was just bizarre.”

The alleged incident happened at the Danbury Fair mall on Saturday. Lama faces fourth-degree sexual assault and breach of peace charges, police said.

“The security officer at the mall said Santa Claus has been sexually assaulted,” Danbury Detective Lt. Thomas Michael said.

Lamy was released and is due to appear in court on January 3. She was unavailable for comment today (tue).

“Santa Tim” Connaghan, president of RealSantas.com, teaches hundreds of prospective Santas a year. He said it’s not unusual for adults to want to pose with Santa.

He told a US newspaper: “I’ve had some very nice ladies sit on my lap. “Once in a while they’ll say ‘I hope Mrs. Claus isn’t going to be upset.’

“You have to be discreet and kind and say ‘Oh no, she’ll be OK. You can sit here, but only for one photo.’”

So this Santa does have an eye for the ladies then: just not for our Sandrama Lamy then.
