Home Insurance
As regular readers will know we've been sorting out this new (to us) house down here and the first thing we sorted out when we got here was to make sure that we got homeowners' insurance. The reason being that a home is the most expensive thing that you ever buy. Something goes catastrophically wrong then you're financially entirely wiped out.
Even if it's only smaller things that go wrong the insurance is still a great idea. We've just had a lightning strike a few days ago. No damage to the house but it blew up the phone lines (and thus I'm adding this to the blog by mobile phone modem!) and also the TV satellite dish and the set top box. That's fairly expensive to sort out, certainly a great deal more than the insurance cost us which is going to carry all the cost.
So, if you'd like to get protected, check out this Home Owner Insurance Quote system to see how it can help you.

Sorry, Tim, don't want to get in the way of a man earning a crust but would-be UK purchasers should be aware they have few if any of the protections afforded to face-to-face purchasers of home insurance. So if you end up with the wrong sum insured, the wrong insurance cover for your needs, whatever - hard luck.
Internet insurance sales are a nightmare. Go see a broker, face to face.
And no, I ain't one.
