Iraqi Interpreters
In The Times.
Armed with a glowing reference from his commander, Major Pauric Newland, stating that his life would be in danger once British Forces left, A Kinani made a personal appeal to Tony Blair, during his last visit to Iraq as Prime Minister in May.
His letter was handed to Ruth Turner, a former No 10 adviser, and a reply was sent on June 22 by Nick Banner, a former foreign policy adviser, who informed Mr Kinani that he was not eligible for asylum. He suggested that he went to a third country and applied for a visa and advised him to look at a website for help.
Damn we are ruled by rancid little fucks.

All Mr. Kinani actually needs to do is to get in to Britain. Once here, he'd be a shoe-in for an asylum claim.
Soldiers are well-known for being able to smuggle "interesting" souvenirs back from foreign parts.
A solution suggests itself...

Sam: if we do rapidly exit Basra whilst attempting to leave the locals who have worked for us behind, then some soldiers will mysteriously discover that they drove all the way to Kuwait without noticing the Iraqi interpreters in the back of their vehicle. But plenty won't make it out this way: those who can't make it to British bases in the last few hectic days, those who are stranded in Jordan or Syria, those for whom there just isn't room in the Army vehicles: and those who have been murdered by the local jihadists, as quite a number already have. So letting them in, with their families, is the only solution. And the latest Times reports, not to mention ARRSE threads, make it rather plain that a number of soldiers are disgusted by the present policy of leaving these people to their fate.
Can those of you who haven't yet written to your MPs please do so? You can find talking points at my site. Justin at Chicken Yoghurt is currently collating MPs' replies: bland as some of them are, we are forcing an awful lot of MPs to ask the Home Office and the FCO about this policy. If they don't think they can get away with it any more, they won't try.
