George Michael

The popular artiste George Michael, formerly with the beat combo "Wham", performed a selection of his hits to a group of teenyboppers at the former site of the home of English football in Wembley yesterday.

Observers described the performance as musical.

I am way past the age of attending popular music concerts, but I did manage to partake in Mr Michael's extravaganza at the Roundhouse in North London, mainly because it was free - my partner being a nurse and winning a pair of tickets.

The venue was rather small, even when shared with the massive egos of the likes of Mr Gervais and Mr Walliams who appear regularly on the television, and for whose benefit we had to wait, standing, some lengthy period of time before they could squash their abundant posteriors into their seats.

A result was that Mr Michael was but a short distance from my partner and myself, and despite the insistance of the young ladies directly in front of us to wave their f*cking arms about throughout the entire performance, a jolly good time was had by all.

I must admit, the man is a master artiste.

I attended a popular music concert once, by Messrs Simon and Garfunkel. They proved to be rather melodious.
