Election Skullduggery
Someone help me out here. What's the problem with asking someone how they're going to vote?
Don't opinion pollsters do that all the time?

Btw it seems that the possibility of electoral fraud has become such a serious threat to the integrity of the ballot in Britain that the Electoral Commission is likely to propose voters should have to produce some sort of evidence of personal ID in order to vote:
"Voters will be asked to produce photographic identification at polling stations under controversial proposals from the Electoral Commission to combat fraud.
"Sam Younger, the commission’s chairman, told The Times that there was an urgent need for greater security at the ballot box following new safeguards for those voting by post.
"He suggested that voters should produce a passport, driving licence or other photo ID at polling booths, or apply for a free electoral identity card. . . "

such polls influence votes.. get rid of them.

The problem isn't with asking people how they're going to vote. It's with asking them when you're pretending to offer a service to opt out of being canvassed and you're actually a political party. I don't mind telling YouGov who I'm thinking of voting for, but I would mind very much if they passed on that information, along with my name and address, to a party or a candidate.
