Swindon Sickies
As the Englishman points out, the average Swindon council employee took 10 sick days last year (when we average the total number of sick days across the total number of full time staff) or, in another calculation, some 10% of the workforce was on long term sick leave.
Clearly, working for the council is injurious to your health. We should fire a lot of them to free them from this horrible and dangerous workplace situation.

Have you ever worked for a council? I have. Doing next to nothing for days on end can be demoralising. Taking a sickie was often necessary for 'mental health' reasons, and there was non of the guilt associated with being off sick that I have had in subsequent, private sector jobs. I knew that my colleagues at the council were also so underworked that my absence made no difference at all.
