Whisky Deliveries?

Via Recess Monkey to Kerron Cross.

Gordon and MacPhail will also take over the operation of the Members’ home delivery service, available exclusively to serving Members. The price of this service has been maintained at £150.00 for a case of 12 bottles including VAT and delivery to any UK address. Details of how to order will be circulated very shortly.

In the meantime, we regret that supplies of the existing House of Commons Whisky have been exhausted at our present supplier, Oddbins, and consequently there will be a short interruption to the Members’ home delivery service whilst this business is transferred to Gordon and MacPhail. We apologise for any inconvenience that this will cause to Members and expect the new service to commence in early November.

Well, at least they’ve moved to the best whisky supplier in the country. But really. Home delivery for MPs only? This is an essential and necessary part of the Governing of the Kingdom?

The other thing I want to know is what’s Ginger Charlie’s monthly bill?

Pehaps it might be better to ask what the Petrol bill is for transporting that much Whisky to the Lib-Dum leaders residence?

£12.50 a bottle including VAT and delivery!???? The buggers wanted £52 for a 25 year old malt and £49 for delivery to Kiwiland!

Yet another little perk not available to the public hmm...? Wonder if a letter to the 'Northern Scot' would let us get the same deal?

I note the Sergeant At Arms, my old CO Major General Peter Grant-Peterkin is a local chap from Forres who buys his booze from Gordon and Macphail as well...hope he is not getting commission!
