Rove, Libby, Cheney, Fitzgerald.
According to the NYT Scooter Libby’s going to get indicted and no one else will.
Lawyers in the C.I.A. leak case said Thursday that they expected I. Lewis Libby Jr., Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff, to be indicted on Friday, charged with making false statements to the grand jury.
Not, as you might think, for releasing Valerie Plame’s name or anything like that, no, for making false statements to the grand jury.
Rather the Martha Stewart prosecution really, isn’t it?
Ah well, at least we know now. As far as the NYT is concerned refusing to testify to a grand jury is admirable, someone jailed for such an obstruction of justice is a heroine, deserving of every right thinking person’s support.
Someone who similarly obstructs jutice by misleading same said grand jury is a criminal who ought to go to jail.
