Trackbacks

Bishop Hill wishes to announce that his blog now both acccepts and sends trackbacks.

Now, could the rest of you please get trackbacks enabled? Both sending and receiving? So that we can follow these conversations across blogs?

Good. Well Done. I believe Haloscan can help (for no money and no, I don’t get a cut of that no money).

I suspect the irony gnomes had a good chuckle at this one.

Ah well, it worked despite giving me an error message.

I'm not sure what irritates my geek sensibilities more; things not working, or things working when they're not supposed to (or claim they're not, at least).

Unfortunately we are on a windows server and use an ASP blog so I don't have a scooby how to program trackbacks.

However, for those in a similar situation you can always try the stand-alone trackback pinger.

did have them, then spam went a bit crazy, so turned them off for a bit.

spam now seems to be under control, but fear turning back on will lead to more spam than is worth it, given the amount of proper trackbacks the site was getting pre-turn off.

Tim, you've obviously never woken up to see that overnight your blog has suffered a wave of japanese pr0n trackback mutilation...
