Zoe Williams.

Zoe Williams manages (quelle surprise) to completely misunderstand the economics of nightclubs:

The interpolation of just one individual who isn't male will have a feminising (I'm steering clear of the word "civilising") influence so great that it's often cost-effective for nightclubs to let women in for nothing, since they pay for themselves by preventing breakages.

Errr, no dear. Men often go to night clubs because they’re hunting poontang. A nightclub with lots of women in will thus attract lots of men. Women get into nightclubs free because they are bait.

Are women really this naive, or is it just Zoe? Every man with a pulse who sees that sign for the first time - "Women get in free" - instinctively knows immediately why the offer is made.

It's not naivety, it's stupidity. Neither acribe to malice nor "naivety" what can be adequately assigned to stupidity.

But this does suggest an interesting question. Has any nightclub ever made a "Men Get In Free" offer? And in what circumstances would such an offer make sense?

The 'Free Men' offer would go down a storm at the local disco on Tuesdays otherwise known as 'Feel a Fossil' or 'Grab a Granny' night!

Have the Equal Opportunities lot been told?

Zoe, who ranks in my books as a "babe", may have been impared as the result of a visit to a club when she wrote this. She's not usually this clueless.
