Slavery Reparations.
Michelle Malkin is enraged by Alan Keyes' view on reparations. I noted an earlier case here and thoroughly took the mickey out of the very idea. Let's face it folks, where would you rather be right now: African-American in America or African in Africa? Louisiana or Liberia? Mississippi or Mali?
No, that doesn't make either the slave trade or slavery correct, nor should it change our current attitude that race or skin colour are not a valid basis for discrimination. Yet it would be absurd to pretend that the current descendants of US slaves have not benefitted from what happened back in history.

I don't know... do you think I can get money out of the UK for being the descendent of Irish and Scots who were obviously hounded out of their native land? And then what about my cousins who have a white father and black mother... should they just pay themselves? It's so confusing.
