Nick Berg Video
Now wait minute. This Nick Berg execution video. So it starts out as Zarquawi being identified as the homicidal maniac sawing a man's head off. A civilian contractor, a Jew, who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. So we are all, quite rightly, up in arms over this, with comments from " see, this is what we're really fighting against " to "Nuke'em ".
Then this morning, I look at Whizzbang who is running an excellent series of updates on the matter. Berg had contacts with Moussaoui ? Lent him a computer and password ? Is this just some bizzare co-incidence ? Berg was arrested in Mosul on March 24 th and only released on April 6 th ? By the Americans? There seem to have been other contacts between Berg and the terrorists ?
Just what is going on here people ? I mean, WTF ?
Can someone fill me in here ? Are we getting close to the idea that Berg was, in Lenin's phrase, one of the useful idiots ?
I just don't know what to think at the moment.

i think that's the peoples in usa should feel now how much muslims and arabs are suffering because of the usa policy in middle east and unlimted support to jewish , when muslims and arabs get killed no one care about them , but now after what happenend to berg , should not the usa community thinks , why mulsims hae the usa citzen and evry things realited to usa

These cowards in the video only prove just how ignorant and wrong their political/religious views are. I know of no religion that can be considered true and valid that advocates decapitating a man simply because of his nationality. You radical middle eastern Muslims are the scourge of the world. I saw the video and it is quite disturbing. I do have to ask everybody this question..if you were surrounded by terrorist..how would you act? Would it be calm? would you be going crazy screaming at the camera? I think this guy was way too calm for the situation. And what is up with the beard? Something strange is going on with this situation and it reminds me of the american man they found fighting for Bin Laden. It has been proven many times that people who are dedicated to these people will do anything for them. What is the connection between Berg and the terrorist?

Do you hear the Muslim nations apologising for these acts of murder by these individuals (like Bush apologised for the behaviour of his troops)? No. They declare we are the enemy. Nick Berg's death was one of the most upsetting visuals I have ever witnessed in my life. However, I think it is very necessary for every mature American to as well be a witness of this horrific video. We must all see what kind of substandard beings we are dealing with. These radical individuals must be delt with appropriatley. They are a disease that must be terminated. AS FOR MYSELF, AND MY FAMILY, WE SUPPORT OUR PRESIDENT AND OUR TROOPS!

To comment to what jjim posted earlier about Americans wouldnt sit back and do nothing if it were our country that was invaded...well wake the hell up jjim.....where were you September 11,2001??? On that day the USA was attacked and we retaliated...but for some reason people like yourself seem to think bad of the USA for standing up for our beliefs and our way of life. Futhermore, all of these European countries you claim see America as the biggest evil in the world, if that is so why do all of these countries call on the US for help everytime they turn around...can you explain that??? I fully support OUR president GEORGE W. BUSH, as well as our troops, he is doing exactly what needs to be done. Maybe the fact that we Americans so fully support our troops is also why we have the greatest military in the world. I was reluctant to reply to these posts. Take a look back at what you have all written. Every post in here just emits hate and violence. I have not seen the video. From what I have heard it is completely disturbing. Your reactions to this video, however, are just as disturbing! How can you quote Adolf Hitler? How can you say that any innocent man whether Arabian, American or other nationality deserves to die? STOP THE HATRED!

what the iraqis did to nick is not a representation of all muslims. I am a female arab american living in america and I do not support the war or the unjustification of the beheading. Allah WILL punish them for what they did. Allah does not want muslims to kill. the Iraqis in the video are ignorant and will be punished by Allah.

First and foremost, my deepest heart felt condolences go out to the family of Nick Berg. It seems that most of you have forgotten what the point of this thread was. I find it hypocritical to state that the USA is the villian, to place comments that it got what it deserved, and at the same moment you all stand on your soap box's and shout for peace and good will towards all mankind.
I also find that most of you have forgotten that even though the USA has occupied Iraq and have overthrown the Hussien regime, that there is a true chance of democracy in that area, that while all the finger pointing in the world doesn't change the fact that IRAQ invaded Kuwait, that due to saddam hussien's "final solution" to the Kurd problem (remember he killed a boat load of them), building and paying for weapons of mass destruction, supporting terrorism, that he was a dictator who suppressed ALL of his peoples God given rights and killed and murdered many more, to think that all of the people who don't think that the USA isn't doing anything better then what they have had in there, isn't it a bit ignorant? I have also traveled to Europe where the general consensus is that the USA should just stay out of other countries problems and let them just figure it out for themselves.. What a thought! The USA could save TRILLIONS of dollars and bring home all her troops and leave us all to fend for yourselves. North Korea can invade South Korea, Tiawan can lose ANY possible chance of true independance, Iraq can become a country with a dictator who supports vicious supression of peoples rights, Afganistan can continue to live in caves and never have a chance to progress and be a haven for terrorists, and so on and so on... I'm sure you get my drift.
Lastly, and most important question that I have is this: What "true" God would justify the murder of even ONE person. Everyone should remember that even though our countries are seperated by political ideologies, we are still human beings. WE ARE THE REASON WHY THE PROBLEMS OF THE WORLD EXIST. IF WE WERE ALL SO GOOD, WE WOULD HELP OUT INSTEAD OF GIVE IGNORANT, IDEALISTIC, AND EGOTISTICAL OPINIONS THAT DONT HELP! OR WORSE, TAKE UP ARMS AND KILL..

by Nicholas Dawidoff, Pantheon Books, 1995?
It is about a catcher who was an undercover CIA agent in the 1930s.
I bring this up because, the man's name was Mo Berg. And his facial charateristics are similar to Nick's.
