Upgrading the House

As regular readers will know we're in the process of getting this new (to us) house sorted out. One of the things we've got to think about is whether to put sidings on the house. Should we go ahead and spend the extra money to protect it?

I've heard recently that food in Melbourne is half the price it is in London: largely because the Australians don't have to deal with the appalling stupidities of the European Union.

Garage Equipment

So here's something of a poser. If I had a metal pegboard in my garage, what would I actually use it for?

I know that they can carry a great deal of weight but that's not quite the issue. Sure, I could use it to hang tool on it, but I don't have any tools. For the simple reason that anything more physically technical than sharpening a pencil is quite beyond me.

Curtains, Curtains, Curtains

So, having waved goodbye to the builders we're now in the process of trying to get the inside of this new (to us) house sorted out. We're working on old furniture until we get the barns done but we do need to start thinking about ready made curtains. The wife has caught this modern bug that they're not simply for keeping the light out (or the heat in) and is thinking about them as an integral part of the decoration, design features even.

One important point is the "less than" 500 grammes. If it were over it would be a mandatory 5 year sentence if found guilty. Wonder is the amount got massaged at all? Thomas Ravenel is, after all, one of the scions of a major political family in the State.
