Well, this is a little turn up for the books. I'd always assumed that the stereotypes about Idaho were true (for such cliches are indeed based upon more than a soupcon of truth, that's how they come about in the first place). That is that it was one large potato field with a few militiamen hiding in it.

Apparently this isn't so and there's something of a rush into the State, most especially into Boise to take advantage of the fine lifestyle to be had in the area.

Which brings us to this very fine site talking about Boise homes, one that I'm really rather impressed with. I think it's laid out just as such a real estate site ought to be. Clear, quick to load, informative, what else could you need? They've got a blog incorporated which looks at certain specific subjects, for example this post on two houses available for $200 k (which makes me think that one of the advantages of Boise is the affordability of the housing). Their housing search engine offers all of the right filters,  and from the main page you can sort by price, size or location.

DVR Recorders

Digital Video recorders are one of the new technologies I've not really caught up with. Not all that much of a surprise I guess as the video recorder itself passed me by as have the subsequent DVD players and so on. However, this might be something I should regret, rather than celebrate. For example, there's the TiVo (that's the link to the Philips models), which allows you to not only record your favourite programs, but do it either while watching something else or even be recording the end of a program while you're watching the beginning. You can also skip the ads which is nice. Then it's also true that DirecTV supplies TiVo equipment to go along with its satellite service. Apparently it's also possible to do all of this remotely as well, using either the internet or perhaps even a cell phone as the remote.

Perhaps the biggest upcoming use is going to be in DVR Surveillance. Hhhm. Perhaps this really is a technology I should be paying more attention to?
